So the past 2 months it seems like, I have been sick! Really the past year...If you know me at all, then you know that this is very inconvenient because I enjoy being able to lots of active things and being sick just does not allow much energy for activities other than TV watching... reading... and surfing the Internet. Well...this forced recovery time has led me to become slightly obsessed with the wedding registering process.
Let me back track a little now.... because I forgot some exciting news!
Coleman and I signed our new lease to our beautiful new apartment in Austin Ranch! The wonderful man I am going to marry packed my entire apartment while I was in the hospital. He did an AMAZING Job and still managed to work and visit me at the hospital. WHAT A GUY!!! I'm so beyond words as to how grateful I am and how blessed I feel to have him in my life!
Anyhow, the movers moved me out of the old place and into the new place all in one day and with much ease due to the wonderful packing job of my fiance. As soon as I am back on my feet I'll be staying at the apartment and once we get married, Coleman will be moving his stuff in as well! We can't wait to start our new life together!
Oh did I mention we have a fireplace? A beautiful view? A simple little apartment for 2! It just feels like home. I can't wait to have everyone over to celebrate! I registered for an outdoor patio grill...
This brings me back to my new registry obsession. I LOVE to look at our registries...and I am highly overly excited about all the possible new kitchen gadgets we might acquire! If you didn't already know, I love to cook! And will cook for anyone anytime when I am well enough! Anyway, Even if we don't get what we registered for....there is still something very exhilarating about clicking and adding an item to your registry...It made me overjoyed that Coleman was invested in it too...Oh! it is even more fun in the store when they give you the scanner and you just scan until your heart is content. Donut pans! Kitchen Aids! Place mats! New Bedding! A baking decorating set! If you want it you, can scan it! Not sure why this is so thrilling...but with the little amount I am suppose to be doing at the moment...it really does help pass time...
I do make sure to keep Coleman updated on the new things I have clicked....and I occasionally delete things that I realize we will have no use for or space for...(this activity is not as fun).
Enough about registering...but just in case you were wondering....we did register at Macy's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Crate and Barrell...and Target...I'm cutting myself off...no more other places will be added I promise...
Another bit of fun news! My Wedding Dress HAS ARRIVED! The downside to this is that the medicine they have me on at the moment and all the IV fluids they gave at the hospital made me inflate quite a bit....I feel like a balloon...soooo I'm not able to go try it on just yet. They scheduled my fitting for May 23rd however...SO I should be back to normal again by then! I feel like everything is starting to really come together! I'm so very excited! I just need continued prayers and positive thoughts for healing! I won't let this sickness get me down!
One last note on the sickness...this is not wedding related, but I feel like I do need to say it. I was so touched by all the visitors that came to see me at the hospital. I was there Monday-Friday and everyday several people came to see me. My room was filled with flowers, cards, balloons, and magazines. I saw friends who I had not seen in awhile and family getting along better then they ever had before. I even received an email from my brother who is traveling Europe at the moment. I was the sickest I had ever felt physically and usually this tends to get my down emotionally, but boy what a difference people make in your life. I know without a doubt that every person who saw me or sent their regards contributed to my recovery. So thank you thank you a million times from the bottom of my heart to all my dear loving friends and family.
That is all for now! Thanks for listening to my random thoughts and I hope you have a wonderful day!

The Post Office
Soooo whats new in the wedding planning world. hmmm let's see...
I sent out all the save the dates! Only 1 came back with the incorrect address! That reminds me I still have to resend that one....other than that It was a success...I will say I did have a funny experience at the post office when I was dropping of my first batch of save the dates...
First of all...let me say...that people get far too angry at the post office! And everyone is in line with nothing else to do but intently listen to the angry person yelling at the poor underpaid post office worker. This one lady was arguing with post office worker as to why she couldn't send her package express or air mail or something...He was calmly trying to explain to her that there are certain regulations and what she is sending CANT go on an air plane...she persisted to argue and eventually just left...she made quite an exit to say the least...
Anyway, I digress...When it was my turn I handed one of the envelopes to the post office lady so she could weigh it and tell me what postage I needed to purchase. She was a very sweet lady, but did not speak the greatest English. However, since I am pretty good at communicating with those who don't speak English very well (most of my extended family) we communicated just fine..or so I thought...She told me I needed 46 cent stamps and grabbed out some pretty wedding stamps from her drawer. I loved them! Then she asked me how many I needed...
I said 46 ( I just so happened to have 46 save the dates to mail that day)
She said "yes, how many?"
I said, "46"
She then looked at me like I was confused and said very slowly..."yes these stamps are 46 cen how many you needed?"
I said, "yes I know I need 46"
Then she clarified further..."Yes these are 46 cent stamps, how many you need to mail?"
At this point...I wasn't frustrated...I just thought it was pretty funny that neither I or she were able to communicate clearly...so finally I thought about my words and said while I motioned to my envelopes..." I have 46 envelopes and I need 46 stamps for them."
Those words ladies and gentleman, are the magic words you need to use if you are ever in a similar situation!
She than laughed a little and said, "oooh okay" and charged me for the stamps.
I then handed her the envelopes....she then informed me I had to put all the stamps on myself before mailing them....
Trust me..I wasn't having a princess moment...Now...I don't know what made me believe this...but I thought the post office did this for you! I felt like such a post office newbie...so I took my stamps, sat on a chair in the corner and put all the stamps on all the envelopes and placed them in the little post office bin the lady handed me. Afterwards...I felt very accomplished, and I really appreciate all the post office workers!
In other postal and stationary news...I received my invitations! They are beautiful and I am very happy with the way we designed them! I am adding my own little touch to each of them before mailing them out in a few weeks...soooo that'll be a process...but it'll be fun.
That's all I got for now! Oh ya! And I updated the wedding party section of our wedding website! You should go look!

The Dress
Due to the many interesting things I have encountered since my engagement...I have decided to start a blog.
My logic...I want to be able to remember all the amusing and exciting moments I experience throughout the adventure of planning our wedding. Also, let's not kid ourselves...I need some place to vent about all the obstacles and interesting happenings that I know I will face. All and all I know this will be enjoyable and I'm more excited than I can possibly say.
What you've missed so far....
The Dress
This was quite possibly one of the most fun undertakings I have ever been a part of! Although it took me visits to 4 different bridal salons, I had a blast! Let me just say that trying on wedding dresses is one sure fire way to boost your self-esteem. I felt like the prettiest princess!
Attempt 1
On my first trip I was lucky enough to have almost all my wonderful bridesmaids with me, as well as my aunt, mother and future mother-in-law. Every time I tried on a dress it was followed by an "oooo.....ahhh." There were 2 dresses I liked at this location...but the price was a bit high...and although I the majority of us (including me) cried when I put on these dresses...I just wasn't completely sold on it...so the searched continued.
Attempt 2
Next trip...tried on many pretty dresses...and wonderful bridesmaids and family cheering me on with every dress....thought I found one that I liked, but my mom wasn't crazy about it...soooo the search continued.
Attempt 3
This was one of my most disappointing trips. It started out fun like all the other trips, however this particular boutique on Mockingbird did not have the the same level of service. For the first time I started to get frustrated and thought that I would not find my dress. The bridal consultant and I did not see eye to eye. I would tell her what kind of dress I was looking for and she would bring me the complete opposite...She also made me feel extremely rushed...I was not happy. Luckily, I had the wonderful support of family once again! My aunt and my cousin, who is also my maid of honor, had been listening to what I had been looking for and recommended a dress they saw at another boutique. So we continued the search for the perfect dress!
Attempt 4
Feeling more equipped with ideas of what I wanted in a dress, we began yet another search! Long story short...after 2 hours of trying on more dresses and narrowing it down to two, I FOUND IT! We cried tears of joy and I was so happy! I did not want to take this dress off! It was so pretty! After saying "yes to the dress" at this boutique they played the wedding march and turned on a bubble machine while you walk around and celebrate! It was truly a memorable experience.
I'm tired just reliving the experience. But the search was more than worth it. I will say there is one danger that comes from wedding dress shopping. It is something I like to call "Princess Syndrome." Princess Syndrome comes about from trying on wedding dresses that make you feel like a princess. After leaving the store it is hard to let go of that feeling. So then you obsess about different occupations and try to figure out a way in which you can be a princess forever! Suddenly all those princess obsessions from your childhood return and you start to believe that you are a princess. I am slightly ashamed to admit...I had...sometimes still have...Princess Syndrome. There was a good few weeks in which I was considering a job as Jasmine or Cinderella at Disney World...I'm not going to lie, it still sounds very tempting...But not to worry, I have come to terms with reality and I know that I am not a princess.
There is more to catch you up with, but I will leave you with this for now! There are so many more adventures to share soon.
